For the discriminating collector, a fine art presentation suitable for display in a gallery or museum - or your own home. The print is produced by an outstanding print lab and inspected by me personally before hand signing the print. The print is then professionally matted, mounted and framed according to the options listed below.

Fine art giclée print on museum grade archival Hahnemühle paper. Inked image 24" x 16" (approximately) printed with an additional 1" white border added all around. Dimensions will vary somewhat due to the aspect ratio of the image.

OPTIONS:

Matted and Mounted: Print is mounted on archival foam core board and matted with an 8-ply 3" white mat board leaving a 1/2" reveal of the white border. My hand-signed signature is visible in the reveal. Ready for you to have framed yourself to your individual taste. 31" x 23" (approximately) finished size.

Framed: In classic art gallery style, the print is matted and mounted as described above, then framed with a 1-1/4" wide square black wood frame with UV acrylic glass and wire hanger. 32" x 24" (approximately) finished size. Subject to my personal inspection before hand-signing. Illustration not to scale. Dimensions will vary according to aspect ratio of image.

20 years ago the giant corporation Mitsubishi and the Mexican government had plans to turn San Ignacio Lagoon and the surrounding untouched desert into a massive salt-mining concern which would have destroyed this last remaining refuge for the grays. A huge effort by environmentalists in opposition to this plan was launched, ultimately causing the industrial project to be halted and instead declaring a marine sanctuary. It didn’t hurt that the president of Mexico and his wife visited San Ignacio Lagoon and the wife was able to personally interact with the friendly grays and thereafter influence her husband’s position.

In addition, the eco-tourism brings badly needed dollars to the residents of the area, replacing the potential income the salt factory might have produced. All our wild creatures are under threat of extinction. The more humans that care about their fate, the better. Here’s an article about the salt mining project if you’re interested.

Classic Fine Art Paper Prints are printed with archival inks on archival paper that should maintain image quality for more than 100 years with proper care and framing.

Canvas Wraps are giclées – a very high quality reproduction that is approved for color and quality by the artist. Gallery Wraps wrap the canvas around thick wooden stretcher bars either 3/4" or 1-1/2" thick for a 3-dimensional effect. They may be hung unframed or framed. Flat Canvas Board Prints mounted on Gatorfoam backing are also available.

Metal Prints and Acrylic are contemporary styles that have become very popular for their clean presentation and vibrant, detailed image. Both may be hung unframed or framed.

Maple Wood Prints are printed directly on to 1/2" thick maple surfaced wood board for a warm and vintage effect that is also eco-friendly.

Signed Editions are available as digitally or hand-signed prints, as well as top of the line Collector's Editions that are produced under my direct supervision here in Tucson and hand-signed by me.
